Match report On a glorious sunny day The Stoics recorded an exciting victory over Woodford Wells in a high scoring game. The Stoics got off to good start with openers Jason Coleman and Ed Clements scoring 22 and 61 respectively. Number 3 Nick Browne scored an unbeaten 101 but the highlight of the innings was a cameo from Arfan Akram, who scored 70 in 45 minutes immediately after lunch. The Stoics eventually declared at 314 for 6.
The Woodford Wells innings got off to a blistering start before one of their openers was unluckily run out at the bowler's end when Jason Coleman deflected a fierce drive on to the stumps. At the start of the last hour the Wells needed 130 with 6 wickets in hand. However the Stoics stuck to their task with Ad Westley taking the last 3 wickets to finish with figures of 3-43 as the Wells were bowled out for 274.
