For the past two years we have been meeting for the annual Plumbly Lunch and AGM at The Frontline Club in Norfolk Place London W2.
The Frontline Club
This year the lunch will be held on Thursday 28 November 2013.
Each year we have been increasing our numbers and this year I imagine that we will reach our full capacity of 70 people.
The Frontline Club prides itself on its food which is organic and grown on its own farms, as far as possible. We have always had a set menu of three or four courses for a set price of around £45-£50 and it should be much the same this year.
You may ask how we found this place? It has a special place in my memory because Rod Moore and I found it when we were meeting to visit Gerald on the last occasion that I saw him. So it seemed very appropriate to me that our future lunches should be so close the hospital where we last saw him.
Last year by way of entertainment I was Michael Parkinson and interviewed Charles Randall and Brian Scovell for about an hour on matters broadly pertaining to sport and cricket.
It seemed to go down rather well so this year we are expanding the format and I will be inviting an eminent sports psychologist, a television producer and a well-known sportsperson to discuss the subject of
'What's going on behind the scenes and in the heads of sportsmen and women'.
In view of our growing numbers please respond quickly when we send the invitation out in about 30 days to make sure that you get your place this year.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Kind regards
Chris Heron
